Welcome to the Upstate Carolina Linux Users Group (UCLUG) site, hosted at Immedion
The Upstate Carolina Linux Users Group is a group of Linux enthusiasts in the Upstate area of South Carolina who like to gather and talk about Linux and other Unix-based operating systems, and free and open source software.

UCLUG meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm. Our next meeting is scheduled for January 14, 2014. The January meeting will revolve around Carolina Free PC. This group spawned off of UCLUG and Tom Ashley and the other volunteers will be demonstrating how the computers we have been donated over the years go from being our last-year's-model trash to becoming a gently-used-new treasure for those less fortunate. They'll also give a demonstration of the Linux distro they use and why they chose it.
A lot of us will probably be getting a new computer this Christmas, and this would be a great opportunity to donate our old, still-working computer equipment instead of having it put in a landfill. Tom and the other volunteers will be glad to take your donations at the meeting on January 14. No unusable equipment, please.
Help spread the word. Other computer clubs and businesses in the area probably need to get rid of their computer equipment, and other charities may want to be involved. At the very least, community groups who want to improve the standard of living in the Upstate may be interested in what CFPC brings to the table. If you are unable to attend in person, we will hopefully have a hangout feed on our Google + page.
