Welcome to the Upstate Carolina Linux Users Group (UCLUG) site, hosted at GlobalVision

The Upstate Carolina Linux Users Group is a group of Linux enthusiasts in the Upstate area of South Carolina who like to gather and talk about Linux and other Unix-based operating systems, and free and open source software.

UCLUG meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm. Our next meeting is scheduled for August 12, 2014. For our meeting, we will have a swap meet, a hardware swap meet and a "software swap meet".

For the hardware swap meet, bring your computers and parts that you would like to exchange, and be prepared to take some home. If no one wants what you bring, consider donating it to Carolina Free PC. Norm Morgan is organizing this hardware swap meet.

For the "software swap meet", have in mind your favorite programs, software suites, apps, or useful websites. I'll bring in slips of paper and a hat to drop them in, and you write down the program(s) and your name, then I'll reach in the hat and one by one each of us will talk about our program or use case. Nothing real elaborate, just a 5-minute-or-less (!) description to expose everyone to stuff everyone may not have known about. And if someone else has a special use case to that program, they can talk about it.

If you are unable to attend in person, we will hopefully have a hangout feed on our Google + page.

We hold our meetings at Immedion:
78 Global Drive
Greenville, SC
